Passive beauty

A reinterpretation of the odalisque figure by swapping the traditional gendered roles in art (male artist gazer and female subject gazed), and a game with symbols of femininity and masculinity. During eighty minutes, we can see exchanges between the model and the movie director, how they communicate and work together.

The ceramics are arranged on low socles with plants under and around the screen showing the video. They are similarly organized than the video scene. The lightning of the exhibition space and the ceramics reproduce the atmosphere of the movie.
